STONY BROOK MENNONITE CHURCH STAFF

  • Brenden Colla, Pastor

Brenden’s journey has taken him from serving as a Catholic altar boy to overseas deployments as a medic for the U.S. Navy to providing disaster relief in Haiti, where he met his wife, a daughter of the Stony Brook congregation. Having come to a new understanding of what it means to be a Christian, he was called as pastor in 2019. Brenden spends his weekdays where he feels closest to God—outdoors—leading a tree service crew.

  • Jon Metzler, Christian Education

A child of missionaries who was born in Paraguay, Jon’s own mission field is a classroom at Lancaster Mennonite School where he teaches English, German, and ESL. Aside from Jesus and education, his passions are disc golf, pick-up basketball, and good food. Jon, with his guitar, also serves as a worship leader on Sunday mornings.

  • Shawn Keeny, Service

Shawn is a master carpenter and a true artist with wood. He works for a local remodeling and restoration company but also loves to build creative pieces on his own. Although his shop is his happy place, he also finds great joy in giving to others and providing for people’s needs.

  • Becca Obayomi, Worship & Music

Becca grew up at Stony Brook and joined the worship team while still in high school. After graduation she served on a Youth With A Mission team focused on worship and evangelism. Now married and raising her own precious children, Becca feels God’s presence while making music. She draws the congregation into that connection as she leads worship from the piano.
